Gallery Afternoon is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Kim Seulgi, opening from May 4th to June 1st. This exhibition consists of 78 pieces of paper drawings, using pencil and watercolor, showcasing the artist's versatility and rich storytelling through the medium. In addition to the paper drawings, as a special feature to commemorate the Year of the Dragon in 2024, two masterpieces on canvas portraying the theme of the Azure Dragon in oil paint will be unveiled for the first time.
For Kim, drawing serves as a flexible and abundant medium to record various emotions and construct continuous narratives. Titled "SogonSogon(소곤소곤)_Whispering Secrets," the exhibition eschews intense and intricate messages in favor of focusing on small, subtle stories reminiscent of whispers in one's ear. These drawing works form the foundation of the artist's painterly endeavors, encapsulating wordlessly tender and sometimes lonely yet not desolate tales of girls, boys, “adult children” undergoing diverse journeys of growth, and heartfelt stories with cats.
We eagerly anticipate your attendance at Kim Seulgi's drawing exhibition. The exhibition is open to all without prior reservation.
